Finn's Plan - Book Two- Marry Her, is live on Amazon. “Don’t be afraid my little one. You’re everything I’ve dreamed of and desired.” His hand slid up her leg beneath her gown and stroked her thigh. “Every part of you will be carefully tended to and you will come to love me and crave my touch.” “Why have you shown me nearly every room in the house except that one?” she said pointing to a set of dark double doors at the very end of the hallway. “You didn’t take me in there.” “No, and I won’t, not for a while,” he replied, gently setting her down in the bedroom. “Why not?” “It’s not the proper time,” he answered evasively. “When will it be? Now I’m curious.” “Don’t let it get the better of you,” he warned. “You are not to go in those rooms without my express permission.” “I don’t understand.” “Trisha, when you go through those doors your life will never be the same again.” Determined billionaire, Finley Tremont's, plan was succeeding. Miraculously he managed to find the girl of his dreams, and despite some reservations, she agreed to marry him. If fate continued to smile on him, he planned to show Trisha the benefits of becoming both his bride and his little girl. He hopes his loving attentions will be enough to convince her. If not, he has some methods to encourage her and he’s looking forward to trying each and every one of them. Excerpt: Trisha meets Vince Mariano
“Ah, dessert has arrived,” he said, still grinning. “Relax my dear, it’s nearly over and we’ll all be able to escape soon. Were I your husband, I would plead to be excused, as I wrote another fat check, before whisking you away to a private island in the Caribbean where I would keep you all to myself, like Peter Pumpkin’s wife.” Trish gasped and dropped her spoon onto her dessert plate where it landed with a clatter. Vince grinned, obviously enjoying her discomfort for the first time. “I’m teasing you,” he assured her easily. Trish nodded and picked up her spoon to continue eating in tiny bites. “Now I’ve gone and frightened you,” he said, a bit sadly. “That was not my intention. “What was your intention?” she nearly demanded. “Simply to let you know what a lovely and appealing creature I find you to be,” he replied smoothly. “And also to state that as much as I admire Finn, I think he’s a fool for leaving you on your own.” “I’m not on my own,” she almost snapped. “See that man standing by the drapes wearing a black tuxedo?” she asked, nodding toward the windows. “The one who didn’t join us for dinner?” “Yes, that’s Inspector Gadget,” she informed him. Vince laughed, loudly. “Inspector Gadget?” “His real name is Conn Clancy and he’s my bodyguard.” “Really, how clever of Finn. I think that’s marvelous,” Vince replied as he took her hand, lifted it to his lips and kissed the back of it. “My esteem for Finn has just risen.” “Vince?” Trish asked, gently removing her hand from his. “Do I have anything to worry about, with you I mean?” she continued anxiously. Suddenly serious he turned to her. “Finn is a dear friend. You are his wife.” “That doesn’t quite answer my question.” “No, you have nothing to worry about. I find you lovely and charmingly naïve, which in other circumstances would make you an easy target, one I would enjoy pursuing. However, unlike many men in my position, I take the sanctity of marriage very seriously. You have nothing to fear from me. We will be friends and I hope you will come to trust me and know that you may come to me in times of trouble. I will always be honest with you.” “Thank you,” Trish said, leaning over to brush his cheek with her lips. Vince actually frowned as his face reddened. “Have I done something wrong?” “You have given me a great gift,” he replied solemnly, “but you have just handed ammunition to any woman in the room who is jealous of your position as the bride of one of New York’s wealthiest men. I know you’re young and unskilled in the arts of subterfuge, but the majority here are not. Be careful you don’t hand them anything else they can use against you to undermine your marriage. I’m sure the vultures have started circling already. They love nothing more than picking the bones of a marriage in its death throes” “My marriage is new and strong,” she insisted, raising her chin defiantly. “Look at your husband,” he advised. Trish glanced down the table. The pretty young woman was chattering away at Finn, while he, in fact, was looking over her head directly at them. “I see what you mean,” she said softly. “I’ll be careful in the future. While I can’t guarantee I’ll never kiss you again, it will never be in such a public arena,” she continued with a wicked wink. He had the grace to blush, clearly shocked by the compliment. “And it is an arena, isn’t it?” she asked. “The only thing missing are the lions.” Vince laughed. “They’re here. It’s simply that they are wearing satins and silks and are dripping with jewels. It doesn’t make them any less ferocious,” he admitted sadly. Hi, I'm Markie Morelli, aka, Stevie MacFarlane.
